When kids respond with a direct “No! ” it can be frustrating.

When a strong-willed child just will not budge from that no, it can feel like you’re well and truly stuck.

A lot of parenting approaches would have you accept the no and respect their boundary. As is common with me, I say that is half of the answer.

We really want our kids to be able to assertively set boundaries, but often what they really need is to learn how to work together so that they get their needs met.

Often a boundary is the fallback when we don’t know how to work as a team. In this video I talk you through how to shift a no into teamwork with your strong-willed child.
